Driver SMS Consent
DispatchInAI platform policy
DispatchInAI is an operational SMS platform, and a product of inAI LLC, used by freight dispatch companies (“Tenants”) to communicate with their assigned drivers about freight loads. The Tenant is the sender of record for every message sent through the platform on its behalf; DispatchInAI (operated by inAI LLC) provides the underlying software and messaging infrastructure as a service provider to the Tenant. This page describes how drivers consent to receive those messages, what messages they receive, and how to opt out.
Messages sent through the platform are operational and transactional, not promotional. The platform does not permit Tenants to send marketing, advertising, political, religious, solicitation, or other non-operational content. See the “Acceptable use” section of our Terms of Service for the full restriction.
1. How drivers opt in
- When a Tenant onboards a driver to the DispatchInAI platform, the driver reviews and signs a written or electronic consent form provided by the Tenant. The form explicitly authorizes the Tenant to send operational SMS to the driver’s mobile phone via the DispatchInAI platform and identifies the categories of messages the driver will receive.
- The dispatcher records the driver’s consent in the DispatchInAI portal. The recorded consent includes the driver’s full name, mobile phone number (E.164 format), the date and time of consent, and the IP address of the dispatcher who recorded it. The signed consent form is retained by the Tenant and made available to DispatchInAI on request for carrier or regulatory inquiries.
- The DispatchInAI platform programmatically blocks all outbound SMS to a driver whose consent has not been recorded. A dispatcher cannot send a load dispatch to a driver until consent is on file.
- Consent is express written consent under the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), 47 U.S.C. § 227, and is consent for operational messages only. The driver’s consent to receive SMS is not a condition of any other relationship between the driver and the Tenant.
2. What messages drivers receive
- Load dispatch notifications — pickup and delivery addresses, appointment times, commodity, weight, equipment type, special instructions, and the agreed driver rate.
- Load cancellation notifications — when a load is reassigned to a different driver, the original driver receives a one-time cancellation message.
- Dispatcher-to-driver freeform messages tied to a specific load — clarifying questions, status updates, document requests, and the like.
- Service notices — required carrier or regulatory messages such as HELP replies and one-time confirmations of opt-out.
Marketing, promotional, political, religious, solicitation, and SHAFT-restricted (sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco) content is prohibited and is blocked by Tenant agreement and by acceptable use enforcement.
3. Sample message
A representative load-dispatch SMS sent through the platform looks like this:
New dispatch from DispatchInAI Pickup: 1200 W 35th St, Chicago, IL 60609 Appt: Mon 5/18 08:00 PU#: 4471829 Delivery: 4400 Empire Central Dr, Dallas, TX 75247 Appt: Tue 5/19 14:00 Commodity: Palletized auto parts Weight: 38,400 lb Trailer: Dry van Pay: $1,650 Reply YES to accept or NO to decline. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply.
Tenant-branded messages sent under a Tenant’s verified toll-free or 10DLC number use that Tenant’s name in place of “DispatchInAI” in the message body.
4. Frequency
Message volume varies with the driver’s load activity. A typical driver running five loads per week receives between five and twenty-five messages in that week. The platform does not send recurring marketing messages or scheduled broadcasts.
5. Opt-out, help, and re-consent
Reply STOP (or any carrier-recognized opt-out keyword, including CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE) to any DispatchInAI message to opt out of all further operational SMS from the sending Tenant. The platform sends a one-time confirmation of the opt-out and then programmatically blocks all further SMS to that number from that Tenant.
Reply HELP (or INFO) to receive a short message with program information and the sending Tenant’s contact details.
Once a driver opts out, the platform blocks all further SMS to that number from that Tenant until the driver re-consents through the Tenant’s onboarding process (typically by signing a new consent form and having the dispatcher re-record consent in the portal). Replying START or UNSTOP to a previously stopped number does not by itself re-enable messaging; documented re-consent is required.
Standard message and data rates apply per the driver’s mobile carrier plan.
6. Mobile information sharing
No mobile information — including phone numbers and SMS opt-in status — is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Driver phone numbers and consent records are used solely to deliver the operational dispatch messages described above. Limited sharing with subcontracted service providers (for example, our SMS carrier, Twilio) is permitted only as required to deliver those messages.
7. Location sharing
With the driver’s consent, the driver web app linked in dispatch messages may share the driver’s device location with the Tenant for operational load tracking. Location is collected only at discrete moments: (a) when the driver taps a load-status action (accepted, in transit, or delivered) in the app, and (b) when the driver responds to a dispatcher’s on-demand location request. In every case the driver’s device first prompts for location permission, and no location is collected unless the driver grants it. There is no continuous or background tracking.
Shared location is visible only to the Tenant’s authorized dispatchers, is retained with the load record, and is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. Consent to share location is part of the driver’s signed consent and may be revoked at any time by declining the device permission, by not using the app, or by notifying the Tenant; declining location does not affect the driver’s ability to receive or accept loads.
8. Compliance
DispatchInAI is designed to support Tenant compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and industry requirements governing SMS and telecommunications, including, but not limited to, the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, U.S. carrier application-to-person messaging policies, the FCC’s rules on revocation of consent, and state-level telecommunications laws (including but not limited to the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act and the Washington Commercial Electronic Mail Act).
The DispatchInAI platform is operated by inAI LLC. Toll-free numbers used to send SMS through the platform are provisioned by inAI LLC through Twilio and are carrier-verified under inAI LLC’s Twilio Customer Profile before being assigned to a Tenant for that Tenant’s exclusive use. Each Tenant is the substantive sender of the messages it composes and dispatches through the Service and is responsible for the content, opt-in status, and lawfulness of those messages. Where a Tenant elects to port in or brand its own carrier-registered number, the Tenant may become the carrier-registered entity for that number, and the same allocation of responsibility applies.
The Service does not, and is not intended to, relieve any Tenant of its legal, regulatory, or industry compliance obligations. Each Tenant remains solely responsible for confirming which specific requirements apply to its own SMS and communications activities, for obtaining and maintaining the required consents, and for meeting all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend or terminate services, cancel dispatch assignments, and take any other appropriate action if we determine, in our sole discretion, that a Tenant or user has violated, or may be violating, this policy or any applicable law, regulation, or industry requirement.
9. Records and audits
DispatchInAI maintains, for each driver, an auditable record of consent (including timestamp, recording dispatcher, and IP address), of every outbound message sent to that driver, and of every inbound reply received from that driver. Tenants can view and export these records from the portal. On a carrier or regulatory inquiry, DispatchInAI will cooperate with the affected Tenant in producing the relevant records.
10. Contact
For questions about the DispatchInAI SMS program, including consent records, opt-out verification, or carrier inquiries, contact hello@inai.llc. Drivers with questions about messages from a specific Tenant should contact that Tenant directly using the contact details provided in the HELP reply.
